The QPR for PCPs (Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Nurses) is intended to prevent suicide not just among patients, but among colleagues, co-workers, and family members. This course teaches basic QPR as well as its application as a verbal screening tool that can be used in general medicine, either inpatient or outpatient. A skills-based training, it includes foundational information about suicide as a public health problem, an orientation to the link between mental illness and suicide, and evidence-based treatments for patients at risk of suicidal behaviors.
